If you haven't been following on our Instagram @Wuhoo_Group, you've been missing out on our rankings of all the most popular personal US credit cards. We just wrapped up our series of Capital One branded credit cards, and thought it would be a great time to demonstrate how we would use Capital One miles for free travel. Also, I haven't planned anything out for]Memorial day weekend, so let's use that as my scenario.

Capital One and Citi are the only banks that transfer to Turkish Airlines, which for a long time had a lot of Star Alliance sweet spots where you could use 45,000 miles to fly business class across the Atlantic Ocean. Nowadays, the redemption rates have been devalued, but still worth it compared to the cash price.
The devaluation hits the points use hard, but using 270,000 miles and $588.40 to fly a $7,000+ business class seat still provides a solid 2.3 cpp redemption, especially booking only a month away. The direct flight and the lie-flat ability will be crucial to enjoying a quick weekend in Istanbul. If you wanted to save miles, you could also do the 45,000-55,000 mile redemption for economy.
Capital One has the ability to transfer to Wyndham Rewards for unique resort hotels. In Instanbul's coast there is the Wyndham Grand Istanbul Kalamis Marina Hotel that usually runs for over $500 per night. However, just by transferring 60,000 points, you can stay there for 2 nights absolutely free. While the cent per point redemption isn't the best, it's helpful for this quick weekend stay to relax.
