We wrap up our Hawaii trip recaps with some key points of interest to visit should you ever be on this fun island. Please reach out if you have any questions or want personalized suggestions!
Check out our vlog here.
Zippy's:Better than your typical fast food place, their snack pack has a variety of local Hawaiian eats. And they're everywhere, basicaly the Wawa equivalent. This was a perfect quick stop between the airport and our hotel.
Chengdu Taste Honolulu: If you crave spicy Sichuan food like me, then this is the place to satisfy your taste buds. It has all your classic Sichuan staple dishes.
The Pig and the Lady: A cool Vietnamese fusion restaurant with delicious pho, steak, and other meats. This is definitely a must try and a little outside of the main Honolulu area.
Leonard's Bakery: Get your malasadas here. If you don't know what these are, they're basically fried donuts without the holes. There's a couple food trucks around the island and a storefront near Waikiki.
Bogart's Cafe: Your typical breakfast diner food place near Diamondhead.
Build Your Own Ramen: Just as the name says, you build your own ramen place. It's a fun place to select your meats and vegetables. Be careful how much you put, cause some things add up! And look out for the bonus dessert!
Diamond Head Cove Health Bar: Favorite acai bowl place of the trip. The fruit and components were so fresh and delicious. We want to fly back just for their bowls.
YogurStory: We just went here for the Ube pancake and it was well worth it. The steaming pancakes had so much flavor in every bite.
Aloh: An acai bowl place in Waikiki. It helped abate our acai bowl craving, but honestly it's a far cry from the Diamond Head Cove Health bar bowl.
Fresh Catch Kapahulu: Amazing poke bowls, truly the freshest of fresh. The fish and fried rice are a perfect meal combo!
There are so many outdoor opportunities to explore on the island. Even though it may rain, it usually passes fast so you can enjoy the wonderufl nature.
Trust us, you have to get out of Waikiki to get access to some really beautiful waves and perfect sand.
Lanikai Beach: A world-class beach that is pretty easy to get to. The white sand and blue waves are mesmerizing.
Kahala Beach: A very peaceful, quiet beach. It has a leaning palm tree to take your picture-perfect Hawaii photo against a sunrise or sunset.
Dole Plantation: Fun place to see some pineapples and they have a train for kids. The Dole whip is one of a kind!
Waimea Valley/Toa Luau: Definitely a must visit; the nature and waterfalls were beuatiful. The Luau wasn't just food and a show, it also included interactive activities like weaving, taro shaving, and coconut peeling. The food was of course amazing with local eats and desserts. Finally the performances took you across the Pacific!
Kualoa Ranch: If you're a Jurassic Park lover this is the place to visit. They shot several scenes here and even if you don't care about dinosaurs, the views are amazing.
Pearl Harbor: Of course, a solemn and sobering place to visit, but very memorable.
Ala Moana Center: A massive mall with so many stores. There are several local boutiques with cute dresses.
HNL Gardens: There are 3 Asian gardens inside the HNL airport, which makes it nice to kill time and look around.
